Falling Leaves Hat:
As the leaves turn along the water’s edge and the colors reflect upon it, it is time to put on a hat to enjoy a morning walk. Crocheted with a brim hidden on the inside this hat will give your ears a little extra coverage as the wind blows in from the North.

Designed to celebrate the diversity of our local yarn shop communities in support of Local Yarn Store Day 2020, this award winning poncho design is yarn agnostic, uses no specific color, or fiber content, is a generic pattern, and most importantly a blank slate for consumers to create a masterpiece.
The inspiration was the idea to create a blank slate/canvas upon which fiber artists may exercise their creative freedom. The idea of “canvas” lead me to seek out a stitch in the spirit of canvas. My interest in making this a simple pattern lead me to use the Linen Stitch as it requires a knowledge of chaining and single crochet. With a concept and stitch in mind, I chose to “paint” my story in hand painted cotton yarn, shown at the right, using a linen stitch for my prototype. So, join in the fun, crochet one for yourself to do your own yarn crawl on Local Yarn Store Day 2020 or pick up skeins along the way and make one as a meaningful memento in support of your local yarn stores.

Lovely Lines Scarf:
Vertical lines add a bit of sophistication to the everyday enhancing the frame of the body they envelope by providing a visual vertical lift. Urth Uneek Worsted Weight Superwash takes this concept to a new level with its long runs of color to provide hundreds of stitches worth of each, when properly aligned as seen here, the colors form vertical stripes, enhanced further by the tassels which grace each of the selvedge edges.
