Escape the city bustle and lose yourself in the rhythm of the stitches.
Inspired by the peaceful, iconic oasis tucked inside Central Park, the Strawberry Fields Forever cowl captures that rare, quiet moment of stillness in the heart of New York City. Just like the memorial itself, this design is all about reflection, melody, and finding harmony in the beautiful mosaic of life.
The pattern features a beautifully structured, high-neck cowl that gracefully drapes down into a classic triangular shawl point. It is meticulously engineered to mimic a mosaic texture, making it the absolute perfect canvas for showcasing multi-colored, variegated, or speckled yarns—bringing to mind the colorful tributes left by visitors from all over the world. Wrap it up, step out onto the crisp city streets, and carry a piece of iconic comfort wherever you go.
  • The Silhouette: Snug, cozy neckline coverage with the dramatic, effortlessly styled drape of a shawlette.
  • The Vibe: Rhythmic, relaxing to stitch, and deeply nostalgic.
  • Yarn Match: Perfect for that special, variegated skein you’ve been saving for the right project.

Description

Is it a shawl, is it a cowl, is it something else? Yes! And why can it not be both, or more? As many of my students know, I wear a lot of bright Summer colors all year long, life is too short to just wear black! I was given a beautiful skein of Strawberry Fields New York Yarn by Baah for my birthday and I knew it just had to be something I could wear a lot so I set out to make something seasonless to bring joy and a splash of color when ever life got me down. It can be finished two ways, as a cowl or as a small shawl, directions for both are right here for your own New York adventure.
