Description

“…for wear on a windswept coast…” sitting here on the Bay, I would like it if the wind would blow a little on this hot Summer day, it will come winter, I know. With winter in mind, I added a little color to the inspirational photo at the right by reimagining it in a deliciously soft  and lofty bulky weight using a Nordic twist for the borders and knit in the round on a US 10.5 for the body of the work and 11 for the trim.

Using a familiar texture, in this case a Latvian braid, at a different gauge in a new way was the concept behind this cowl.  The colorwork is reminiscent of the trim used on Latvian gloves but with a fresh new twist – a lofty spun bulky weight wool rather than a traditional plied dk or worsted weight wool.
