The azure blue water’s relaxing sound of the waves along the Gulf Shore at my favorite resort on Key West inspired this pair of mitts. I love to run in the morning when everyone else is sleeping off their night but even in Key West some January mornings are a little chilly for bare hands and shorts. So rather than wait, I decided to pick up some cotton in Miami and worked these lovelies up on the ride down to my final destination at “the end of the world”. Perfect for an early morning chess game with a fellow runner or a jog along the beach in the pre-dawn hours.
Materials: Cascade Ultra Pima (100% pima cotton; 220 yds/201 m/100 g): Jade (1 skein)
Needle :US size 5/3.75 mm 9” circular, US size 3 9: circular
Notions: Tapestry needle, point protectors
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stockinette stitch
