Description

There is a place to which we all retreat for a bit of quiet time. Whether beneath the shade of a palm tree in the tropics or under the canopy of an elm tree. Under which the light dances as the tree sways in a breeze, there is comfort in the shelter provided. Taking that sense of comfort along on life’s journey can be a challenge. One I chose to embrace through the art of crochet to capture the colors texture and sense of comfort one finds in a quiet grove of trees beneath the canopy of a mature elm grove. I chose the elm because like a beautiful hand dyed yarn, it is a rare treasure, one we must enjoy while it is here and cherish when it is done.

Crocheted from the bottom up, the piece was designed with flexibility in mind. The ten stitch repeat was intentionally designed to encourage you, the maker and creator of this scarf, to make modifications to the pattern easier to do to suit your own vision. The combination of front post and back post crochet stitches keeps the work interesting as your scarf grows to its fullest potential.
